Sussex Saddles & Equine Therapy – Terms and Conditions – Key Points

  • The fitting fee is required at the time of booking the appointment. This is non refundable if the customer cancels with less than 48 hours notice.
  • All additional saddle fitting charges, adjustments, flocking, travel expenses, girths and pads must be made in full on the day of fitting.
  • A 50% deposit is required on all orders. Full payment is required at the time or fitting or before. Deposits are non refundable unless the order is cancelled within 5 days of ordering.
  • In accordance with the consumer rights act 2015 customers have a 14 day cooling off period with the exceptions of bespoke/made to measure items.
  • If an item is returned within the 14 days a refund will be given minus the deposit and call out fee/postage and appropriate charges for any wear and tear may be deducted (normally 20%)
  • Any alterations or appointments required after 28 days of the purchase of the saddle will be charged at the standard rate.
  • Saddle fitting charges cover consultation for one horse. Additional horses at the same yard will be as agreed. Travel charges may e split between customers on the same yard.
  • Repairs will be quoted before work commences, and payment is required in full on the day item is returned.
  • Faulty items should be returned within 14 days for inspection. Please allow up to 28 days for replacement goods.
  • Your saddle will need to be checked 3 – 6 monthly basis to ensure correct fit & balance. It is your responsibility to arrange this. Normal appointment fees apply.
  • Horses change shape as they put on or lose weight and gain or lose fitness or muscle. If you are aware that your horse has altered in shape, please book in to have your saddle re assessed; it may need re-balancing or refitting with more or less flock or the temporary use of shims. Normal fees apply.
  • Your saddle has been sold fit for purpose. It is satisfactory quality, i as describes, meets your expectations and has been installed (fitted) correctly at the time of fitting.
  • We reserve the rights to refuse to meets orders where the product/service may have been listed at an incorrect price or offer has expired.
  • Sussex Saddles & Equine Therapy reserve title to goods until paid for in full.

For saddles purchased/fitted at your premises –

For saddles purchased and fitted away from our premises a call out fee is applicable on all visits. Our call out generally covers travel to you the customer and consultation for one horse. Additional horses at the same location will be charged in addition to the call-out fee.

For purchases made at your own premises standard stock saddles are covered by “doorstep selling” consumer regulations and are sold subject to a right to cancel offering a full refund within 14 days from the day after the date of purchase. If you wish to exercise your right to cancel you must notify us in writing or by email within 14
day notice period. Full refunds of the purchase price will be issued by call-out/postage fees incurred, when saddles are in new un-soiled condition.

For saddles that have been ridden on during this period a deduction will be made from the original purchase price commensurate with use at the discretion of owner, Athene Lindfield. This deduction will be confirmed in writing before the refund is processed.

For special orders/bespoke saddles –

For all special orders/bespoke saddle, these are non-returnable and non-refundable. Upon ordering your new saddle a 50% deposit . Upon ordering your new saddle a 50% deposit will be taken by your fitter and you will be advised an approximate lead time for delivery. It is important that you maintain your horse’s condition and weight to ensure your saddle fits once made. Your saddle will be made to template, so it is important that your horse’s template doesn’t change too much, this will be discussed with you prior to purchase. Our fitters are able to make adjustments to allow for some minor changes for example to flocking, once your saddle has been delivered. Deposits taken for bespoke orders are non-refundable if you cancel your order after five days from the date of order.

Order cancellations must be received in writing or electronic mail to [email protected] within this five day period to receive a refund; this will be issued with deducted callout fees/expenses incurred at the time of the order.

Any outstanding monies must be paid in full at the time of, or prior to delivery of the goods. If goods are being shipped full payment must be made by bank transfer prior to the goods being shipped. Sussex Saddles & Equine Therapy reserve all title to goods until paid in full.

Faults & Repairs –

All of our bespoke saddles our beautifully hand crafted so there may be slight variations on construction depending on the saddler. If in the unlikely event your saddle is faulty, you must return it to us within the first 30 days of purchase for full refund or replacement. If you are outside of your 30 days, any faulty items returned
to u will be subject to the terms of our manufactures warranty. Any goodwill gestures outside of the warranty terms will be subject to the discretion of Sussex Saddles & Equine Therapy.

Aftersales –

Your saddle may need rechecking and rebalancing within 30 days. Call out charges apply however, any flocking alterations are free of charge within the first 30 days. Any alterations made to your saddle after 30 days from purchase will be charged at our standard rates. This includes flocking, head plate changes and callout fees.

Your saddle will be fitted based on the fitting appointment, your horses template and the ridden assessment. This does not guarantee that the saddle will always be the perfect fit. Horses change, riders change and therefore the saddle may need to be adjusted or changed. If outside the time period outlined this requires a new appointment which must be paid for.

It is important for us to know budget, cosmetic preferences, perfect fit and our demo stock do not always produce the perfect solution. If a saddle is purchased primarily with the budget in mind it is unlikely to provide a perfect fit. Our fitter will always do their best to ensure you are aware of the compromise you are choosing to make. This will be noted on your fitting form.

Your saddle will need to be checked regularly for fit and balance as explained by our fitter at the time of purchase. It is your responsibility to contact us to arrange this. We recommend a six monthly check to account for seasonal changes.

All new saddles are covered by the manufactures warranty for your peace of mind.
If a provision in this agreement is or becomes illegal, invalid and unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that shall not affect:

  1. The validity or enforceability in that jurisdiction of any other provision of this agreement.
  2. The validity or enforceability in other jurisdiction of that or any other provision of this agreement.

THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DO NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHT IN ANY WAY
